During Youth Tour, you’ll have an opportunity to be selected to represent Michigan on a national Youth Leadership Council (YLC). If selected, you’ll return to Washington, D.C. for the YLC Conference in July, and attend the NRECA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA the following spring (2020). As a YLC representative, you’ll have a unique opportunity to build your leadership and public speaking skills, enhance your knowledge of the cooperative form of business, and build life-long friendships with other student leaders from across the country.
Applying to be a YLC representative is optional, but if you’re interested in this ultimate youth leadership experience, you must return this application by Wednesday, May 8. The YLC representative is elected by their Youth Tour peers, so be prepared to give a short (3-5 minute) address the evening we arrive in Washington, D.C., telling your fellow travelers why you would make a good representative, and asking for their vote. You can learn more about the YLC experience here.
Remember, even if you don’t get elected to YLC, you’ll still have an amazing Youth Tour experience. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
